With the recent upswing in new posters, I thought it might be wise to lay out a few ground rules for the site…

This blog is designed to allow community contribution, so feel free to register an account and post away, but do try to adhere to the following simple guidelines.

  1. No shameless promotion of other sites - Posting links to other resources, blogs, message boards, etc. is all fine and good, in the context of an on topic discussion that isn’t solely designed to post a link to another site. Hopefully no one is offended, but I did remove a post earlier this morning that basically didn’t say anything but “Go check out this site”. URLs in the comment names are fine too, and they will always be displayed unless they are obviously spam or for some other reason objectionable.
  2. Enable spoiler-free reading - I realize that it’s hard for some to resist reading and talking about spoilers, but if you really must discuss them here, always create your post with the word “SPOILERS” clearly in all caps in the title, so that it can be easily avoided by those who wish to do so. If you are in the context of a comment conversation on another post, do not post spoilers in that thread if the post itself is not already marked as containing spoilers. If you have a relevant comment to the thread that can’t be made without spoilers, make a new post (identified as a spoiler) and link to it in the original comment thread.

As for what constitutes a “spoiler”, I take a very strict position on the topic: ANYTHING that mentions things that may happen in upcoming episodes. This even includes “next week on Lost” preview content that you see at the end of the show. As a side note, Dan and I (the ones who admin this site) decided a while back to look at absolutely NO spoilers, including the commercials for the next week’s episode. I have to say that for me personally it has nearly doubled my enjoyment of the show; I highly recommend that you try it.

Thanks again for participating!
