Season 4 finale

I’m going to just give a rundown of my thoughts on Lost’s 4th season and some overall theories running through my mind.

Jack is the “chosen” one, or the person that should have replaced Ben -

“Bad things happened after [Jack] left”. I’m guessing Locke came back to find Jack and Kate for two reasons:

To save the island he needs Jack to return. Jack is a real leader and he seems to have a bigger connection with the island compared to Locke, it’s hidden by Jack’s denial and Locke’s passion but after some gestures by Jack at the end of the final it seems he knows what the island can do. Example: Jack denying Locke could move the island when hurley brought it up at the end of the finale; seems to me like Jack knows more than he lets on.

Jack is in the family tree. I believe that his dad has a huge spiritual part of the island and it’s getting more apparent with him showing himself to Micheal–who’s never seen him–. The other two in the family tree: Claire and Aaron.

So Locke not only needs Jack back, to lead the island, but Aaron as well to me the islands future.

I agree with the wormhole theory from popular mechanics.

To make physics sense of the movement of the island in Lost, I assume that the island is actually connected to the South Pacific by a wormhole-like warp in space-time. (It doesn’t have to be a simple worm hole; it could be a warren of parallel and intersecting tubes.) Then, to move the island, all you have to do is move the wormhole connection, not the island itself. That’s what I think Ben did. He changed the nature of the space-time connection between the island and the rest of the world.

So the island didn’t disappear. It didn’t even move. Imagine that you are visiting a small town that you used to visit when you were young. You drive for miles, and never come to it. But it turns out the town has not moved. Rather, the highway now goes around it. That’s what Ben did—he changed the highway.

Jin will meet up with Farriday on the boat and they will eventually find the isand after some time passes and they pass the door.

Hurley is truely insane–off the island–but with the island’s healing powers he’s fine. A crackpot theory: Hurley has abilities like Miles and he can’t control it, on the island he can control it.

– Hopefully the others come back to me.

Fountain of youth

I have some theories about the show that Jared has covered and some he hasn’t.

Jacob:

  • Jacob is the island or the island is Jacob. I’m thinking the later since Ben does did say he’s doing things for the island and Jacob told him these things.
  • Jacob told Locke to “help me” which I believe meant save me the island from the impeding ruin.
  • Jacob is what he want’s you to see. He’s the horse, Jack’s Dad and now Walt. That is why Locke didn’t see Ben’s Jacob.

The island:
My overall theory of what the island holds a lot of special abilities but the main one includes a sud-o fountain of youth which is what Dharma was after and now Whidmore primarily wants (more later). There are a few things that help or go along with this theory about the fountain of youth.

  • The story is old, so old that the some of the early founders could have built that statue to glorify it. That statue could be a statue of Jacob, of course not the jacob we see since he’d have 5 toes instead of 4.
  • The children are taken to protect them, like Ben said. Protecting them from either another force on the island or the island’s population control…

Smoke Monster:

  • I think the smoke monster is controlled by Jacob and is the grainy sand stuff outside the hut that Locke looked so closely at.
  • I also think the smoke monster is part of the population control that goes with the premise of the fountain of youth. Since no one can die it deems if people are acceptable enough to live either for ever or an extended period and also reep in the rewards of the mythical island.

finale

Show:

I think the rest of the show will play out from the current time and have flashbacks to the past (2003) on the island. This lends to the production moving to L.A.. I’m not sure about this move because the island is the show and is the entire plot of the story.

Future/Present Time:

The reason for Jack was so upset because it was Locke who died. And the reason for him to be so upset was becuase John believed in the island. He wanted to keep the island a secret as Ben did and knew that it should be kept a secret, John helped the island.

My theory for future episodes on how it will play out:

Widmore is on the ship, they come to destroy the island and fight against the inhabitants which includes the “others” and Locke. Jack and the other cast-a-ways help with that struggle against the “others” effectively helping the truly bad people the Whidmore corporation.

The Whidmore corp. in return helps out the castaways. Gives Kate and Sawyer some kind of pardon and who knows what else for the others.

I do think Kate had Sawyers kid and is with him now. The reason for not dying from the pregnancy was because they got off the island or Whidmore helped destroy the island enough to not let the island kill the mothers and pregnancy.

As you can tell the episode revealed a lot to me. And I’m getting a lot of it by listening to Ben and actually believing what he’s saying is true, in the past we was the master manipulator but I think the writers are trying to play that angle when they actually are revealing a lot.

Daddy issues

Notice how everyone on that island had daddy issues:

  • Kate
  • Jack
  • Ben
  • Hurley
  • Sun
  • Claire
  • Sawyer

John Locke Deceased

paper.png

One the left you’ll see that there are three deceased listings the second has a 4 letter first name and a 5 letter last name.

J-O-H-N   L-O-C-K-E

Maybe…I’m willing to bet that it’s Locke in that casket since it goes with my plot theory but I’m positive that the paper although cleverly has the correct number of letters does not have the printed name. Since if that secret where to get out by the actors or the production crew it would blow the mystery.

Baby Theory

My theory to why pregnancies are not coming to term on the island:

The baby inside the mother is growing at a different rate than the mother is growing the uterus/womb for the baby.

How:

  • We already know that the natives on the island either don’t age or have longer lives so it could be the baby has that life extension and grows much slower which cases the complication. This would mean the “natives” aren’t actually natives or born on the island.
  • Or the baby may not be effected at all and the baby is growing too fast.

The baby could not be affected by the aging within the womb or

Jacob2

Some say it’s Lock. Could it be a future Locke with hair?

My guess is the island manifests into what it wants you to see. The reason Locke didn’t see  Ben’s Jacob was he wasn’t ready to see whatever Jacob want’s Locke to see.

And it looks like the series is going to be stretched out for a few more years so it’s going to take a while.

Plane crash

In the last episode the new addition to the island said that the Lostee’s plane had been found with no survivors. Could it possibly be that she’s from the future somehow and in actuality the plane is found at some point with the entire Lost cast dead? I doubt it, that ending would suck but at least I posted a theory about it, something Jared is forgetting to do.

Answers

Watching last nights episode again I’ve got a lot of theories answers to post. I was going to get really detailed but I’m just going to outline them now.

  • I’m with Jared in thinking there is time travel involved here, he hasn’t posted about it but it makes sense with the smoke monster seeing the past and Desmond’s journey that was not a flashback.
  • I called that Locke was doing all those stupid things because he didn’t want to get off the island but he doesn’t know everything about the island, like Ben states.
  • Locke’s “dad” is Sawyer.
  • I’m thinking Ben says a lot of truth but you need to extrapolate the manipulations.
  • He really did want Locke to blow-up the submarine and he really has lived on the island his whole life.
  • He’s lying about the “box” and is only manipulating Locke into believe there is a mystical aspect of the island. The basis, when Locke was in the closet Ben said, “Get me the man from Tallahassee” meaning in my mind Locke’s dad. So imagining him isn’t the case.

The “box” does make sense though. With the polar bear appearing in season one could have been a manifestation from Walt reading the comic. And Walt was “special” maybe Locke is too.

My guess about the smoke monsters: they are controlled by the others and used as time travel machines or maybe just security devices for outside the bericks. I argued with Jared about multiple smoke monsters but there are clearly two in the first episode of the series (they blow up the plane) however those two could be a fraction of one.

How did Locke’s dad get there? Well he clearly was beaten up a little so him just manifesting by someone other then Locke doesn’t make sense. I think he was either captured by the recruiter through traveling or controlling the smoke monster but my guess would have to be they either went back in time or traveled into the near future to get him. I really don’t see any other answer for Locke’s dad to be there so quickly assuming he wasn’t already on the island.

If he was already on the island then he has to be an other beat up to make it look like he isn’t.
