One the left you’ll see that there are three deceased listings the second has a 4 letter first name and a 5 letter last name.

Maybe…I’m willing to bet that it’s Locke in that casket since it goes with my plot theory but I’m positive that the paper although cleverly has the correct number of letters does not have the printed name. Since if that secret where to get out by the actors or the production crew it would blow the mystery.
That’s some exceptional deduction Dan! Except that Jack tears out the top article not the second one down.
-His line of sight seems to be looking at the first article.
-It seems that He tears out the top article
-if you look at when he pulls out the article later on the bridge
and when he gives it to Kate it seems to still have the corner of
the paper and the clean cut top edge
-When Jack picks up the paper on the plane he puts his thumb over the text in the second article. If that was the article he was looking at he wouldn’t have covered what he was trying to read.
I’m not saying it is or isn’t John Locke, I’m just saying your theory doesn’t work with what I observed. But once again that’s still some good detective work.
its sawyer in the casket that is why he was shocked kate didnt show up.. BEN said that he killed 40 people and that if they make that call 40 more will die, so do the math, how many people do you think REALLY made it off the island??? Jack is upset and messed up because most of the survivors of the crash died some how due to him makeing that call and he cannot get over it…
there is still some sort of time travel aspect to all this we will figure it out later, i believe desmond was a “left over” from this experiment and that an event went wrong sending desmond through time
Yeah, Dan and I rewound and rewatched that paper scene a whole bunch of times right after the show, looking for clues.
The other 40 dieing that Ben was referring to could be Ben’s group and not Jack’s, which I think is more likely. Jack’s group will probably loose people as well, though, so it might not be one group or the other.
The way I’m thinking of it, Jack and his group will continue to believe they are being rescued for noble reasons and maybe even help Whidmore to defeat the “others” and Locke, and then only realize that they were on the wrong side of that fight after they’ve been taken off the island and can’t do anything to stop it.
I think the person who died is Ben. That would explain Kate’s reaction to Jack asking if she went to the funeral. If indeed Jack wishes he were back on the island, then he may have began to feel like Ben was the good guy afterall.
Also, since Ben spent most of his life on the island, he most likley wouldn’t have had any friends in LA and he definitely didn’t have any family. Especially if we assume that the 40 who were about to die now, were mostly “others”.
Jack and Kate’s reactions and conversations in the future lead me to believe that it’s Sawyer in the coffin.
My theory about what will happen on the show leads me to believe that it could be Locke.
It’s a toss up between those two for me right now.
The reason I don’t think it’s Sawyer is that Kate told Jack she had to go because “he’ll want to know where I’ve been” (or “he’ll know I’m gone”, one or the other). Of course, I’m assuming she’s now with Sawyer, based on the terribly obvious remark she made about possibly being prego.
Also, are we all overlooking the statement Naomi made about no survivors? She specifically said that the plane was recoverd as well as ALL of the bodies. No Survivors. So…. what was actually recovered? Was she lying?
Yes, Naomi was either lying or she had fallen for the lie herself and believed it. My guess is actually the latter, since I think Sayid would have sniffed it out if she was lying.
I think it’s nearly 100% positive that Kate is pregnant with Sawyer’s kid, because I think they went out of their way to give us that impression. However, I don’t necessarily think that means that she’s still with him, or that he’s the “he” she refers to.
My bet on the “he” is that it’s either some new character that will be introduced in upcoming seasons or possibly Whidmore himself; more likely someone associated with him.
The “him” Kate is talking about is Ben.
It feels great to be right. I had a feeling it was Locke from the beginning and the season 4 finale just confirmed it for us all.
Here come more theories…Jin survived somehow with Daniel. At least I hope so.
