What’s with the deliberate inclusion of Desmond’s middle name in this episode? David Hume is yet another philosopher name that they seem to want to work into the character names.

I thought about it once or twice when we first met John Locke and then Rousseau (spelling?), I wasn’t sure if Desmond was disocvered on the island by “Calvin” then I remember seeing that Juliet’s husband’s name was Edmond Burke.
