There are twists and then there are totally out of character changes, which I think this would be, if she was revealed to have pushed him. Sun actually had feelings for Jae, however Koran's think differently than we do, she could have been protecting Jin since Jin couldn't do it, she may have decieved Jin but her love for him is unparralled; look what she decided at the airport plus I believe she has some guilt for Jin having to work for her father in the first place. You have to think about it from a production and direction standpoint. If Lee landed on his face it wouldn't be effective as much since his face and the pearls would most likely be hidden.
