LOST S3E1 Recap

Essentially, what happens in the beginning of the episode is a huge love letter to the fans; a pay-off of information and titillation that exceeds anything LOST has done before, yet you would have to be a fan to experience the joy. A lot of fans out there who have heard the rough layout of the episode have expressed some dismay over what follows the beginning, don’t worry; the opening scene is enough to make the summer wait worth it and then some. They could have run a test pattern for the rest of the episode and I STILL would be sitting here recovering from the ecstasy.

I do agree that it was excellent. I expected a cool opening scene after season 2′s opening. I still vote for S2 as the best one, because of the way they showed the inside of the hatch without letting you know that’s where it was until later in the scene. It was a cool way of showing the inside of the hatch (or any other non-outdoor island scene) in a way that has you wondering as you’re watching it “is this really what I think it is”?

I got the same kind of feeling both in the opening scene and when they showed Jack where he was.

That’s a long way to run for Ethan to show up right after the crash. Maybe they were asleep and then awakened.

When was the first moment we saw Ethan though? He could have taken a couple hours to run there and they probably wouldn’t have noticed him staggering out of the jungle and blending into the crowd. This is even more likely because (#1) no would would be expecting someone to try to do this, and (#2) the “others” are obviously pretty good at sneaking around, and Ethan at least seems to be in superior physical condition (possibly even enhanced somehow).

did they have a dinner scene on the beach?

Yep, you definitely called that one. I’d be very interested in any more “predictions” you may have. :)
