Lefties

I’ve heard some commentary about the writing on the map appearing to be from a left-handed person, and someone pointed out that Desmond appears to be right handed.

After thinking about this, I went back and checked the “Henry” appearances just for the heck of it, and he does in fact use his left hand exclusively (eating cereal, etc.), although that could be just because his right shoulder is injured from the arrow wound, so I guess we can’t definitively say whether he’s left handed or not.

I think it might be interesting if Henry turned out to be Desmond’s previous hatchmate, and then got pulled into being a part of the “others” after he got out, but then that would go against my theory that “Henry” is a pretty high up guy in the others’ ranks.

Cool. I hadn’t really thought of it that way, but yeah, I find that a very interesting hypothesis.

I have a question for you then, why do you suppose Henry is afraid of “him” if this is the case? (Whoever him may be, fake bearded bloke or someone maybe even higher up..) If this is the case then I want to know why Henry doesn’t mention the blast door writings to Locke. Locke only got to see them for a few seconds, so Henry could easily manipulate Locke to believing anything he wants.. assuming Locke doesn’t have a photographic memory.

I don’t fall for the theory that Henry is a “higher” up guy of the others, he seems too much a bumbler to be one. I do agree with the theory about him being associated with Desmond so much that he could be the reason why Desmond left in the first place, to go after Henry and maybe get back at him in some way. But that goes against the theory about Desmond being the person who sets up the experiment which is a reason for dissapearing.

All of Henry’s “bumbling was a total act, as far as I’m concerned.

The “him” is definitely someone higher up than Zeke (the fake beard guy), since in the Claire episode Zeke (not his real name, I know) refers to “him” when talking to Ethan, and it sounds like he’s afraid of him.

Henry didn’t mention the blast door map to Locke for one of two reasons: either…

    (A) He doesn’t know about it - it could just be that the lights turn on under certain circumstances, and whoever the authors of the map were (there appear to be multiple layers of notes written over the original map) drew it there because they knew about the black lights coming on periodically (or under certain circumstances) and it was their way of hiding the map from anyone else seeing it, assuming they were always the only people in the lockdown area when the lights appear.

    or

    (B) He knows all about it, but wants to keep up the “playing dumb” act with Locke. He doesn’t want Locke to suspect that he is playing all these mind games with him, so he always presents a very innocent (even “bumbling”) persona when dealing with Locke. It probably just suits his purposes better for now to have John totally frustrated, and he is currently playing it by coming off like he isn’t very knowledgeable of anything that’s going on behind the scenes, especially when dealing with Locke.
