The new domain for this blog is underwaterhatch.com. If there ever does turn out to be an underwater hatch, we will be ready. Now Dan, you just need to hurry up and get those Yahoo ads and Amazon referrer links up here before they reveal it on the show, so that we’re ready for the flood of visitors.
For everyone else, don’t forget that anyone can register and post here, so if you’ve got some interesting theories, then go for it. Even if they’re not that interesting, go ahead anyway.
Oops - Dan, looks like you will have to change the .htaccess file in the new directory, otherwise the permalinks using the new name won’t work. I switched the blog options back to using the old one for now until that is done.
I love the new domain. I’m an obnoxious propponent of the underwater hatch idea as Dan can attest too. I guess I finally got to him. Awesome. Underwater hatch. I’ll have to work on gathering the screen shots and ideas on the underwater hatch theory I have soon.
I think we should provide some META links in the sidebar to make subscribing easier for people. I can do it, but may have a question or 2.
Jared: I’m just doing a redirect now. With a redirect on all 404s so if they do go to an old link it will bring them to the proper link over here by just changing the domain.
Jason: You mean the register button in the header isn’t enough? I’ll but it in the sidebar as well. I could just put in the about section in the k2 options and you guys can add whatever you want around it.
Dan, I think he’s talking about links directly to the feeds, to make it easier for people to subscribe using their RSS aggregator. (I don’t think the register link has anything to do with that). Also, we should include the comments RSS link, both on the page and in the head info as well, so that tools that automatically look for feeds can find it.
Yes Jared that is exactly what I meant. If I’m having to look for them and I know what to look for, I can imagine it being much harder for people to find the RSS links.
I disagree but you could add the link yourself because you have access to edit the links.
I disagree because people who know rss know what to look for: the icons, the footer or at least the icon within their browser. I would understand having the comments rss in the header for automatic detection but can you have more then one? Anyways, you guys have access to edit the theme yourself so you guys can go off all you want.
Hey what the heck are they doing? Are they trying to kill any momentum to this show? I’m watching repeat after repeat of the first season even wondering where are the new episodes? I love this show but I am tired of tuning in only to see the same repeats over and over. Anyone else feeling this way?
Not really. It is difficult to wait for the new episodes, but it is way too difficult to produce episodes quickly enough to keep up with a once a week pace. Even if they taped them farther in advance in order to have enough backed up to show a longer run (which is what they are doing for the end of this season), it would just make for an even larger gap in between seasons, since there is definitely no way they could do 52 episodes a year.
Personally, I’d rather have breaks of a couple weeks along the way in order to stretch the season out longer, since that would be better than a huge gap of time between seasons. I think if they did that it would kill the momentum even more.
If season one is any indication of how season two will turn out, (with 25 one hour episodes), it works out to an average of about a new episode every other week. You can’t really ask for much more than that for a show like this (as opposed to “reality” shows with much less work involved, and even they usually have short runs with long breaks in between them).
Also, they seem to at least be doing the reruns that have something to do with the upcoming episodes, so that’s good. Last time was Claire’s first flashback episode, before the most recent new episode featuring her. Now this week we have the first Sun/Jin flashback, before the next episode which looks like it will center around them.
